Margaret Elizabeth Bodine, 88, Scranton, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 3, 2007, in Ridgefield Washington. Margaret was born February 15, 1919, at Franklin, Kansas, the youngest child of John Marshall and Josephine Catherine Carr. She moved with her family to Scranton, Kansas. She met and later married Louis Mark Bodine, there in 1936. She was actively involved in the PTA, 4-H, Cub Scout Den Mother, and School Board Member. She nurtured her love of music by serving as church organist and soloist for over 40 years, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was an active member and held various offices in the Ladies Auxiliary to the Edward "Ted" Rowe, VFW Post No. 2709, and the Scranton Lions Club. She worked at Forbes Air Force Supply Depot, Topeka, starting as a clerk, secretary, bookkeeper and accountant for 10 years. After the closing of the Supply Depot, she worked in accounting for several local corporations and businesses before becoming the City Clerk for the town of Scranton. Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Carr, who was killed in WWII; her parents; her husband, Louis Bodine; a son, Barry Wayne Bodine; a grandson, Michael Bodine; and two sisters, Ozeith Line and Ula Finley. She is survived by five sons, John Terrance Bodine, Scranton, KS; Gerald Mark and Sally Bodine, Green Valley, AZ; Larry Paul and Carlene Bodine, San Diego, CA; Louis Kerry and Donna Bodine, De Soto, KS; Harry Kieth (Keeter) and Bev Bodine, Topeka, KS; a daughter, Mary Catherine, Ridgefield, WA; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2007, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Scranton. Burial will be in Scranton Cemetery. She will lie in state from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Scranton, where a Parrish Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Margaret's name to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Edward "Ted" Rowe VFW Post No. 2709, or the Scranton Lions Club, and sent % Carey Funeral Home, P.O.
