Subject: Alma Deranleau

Hello,

Loren H Bodine was never married to Alma Gertrude (Amy) Patterson. Amy was the second wife of Leonard J. Deranleau, who was the biological father of David Bodine. David's mother, Dorothy Evelyn Chase, was married to Leonard and after they divorced, Dorothy married Loren Bodine, who adopted David.

Just wanted to note this correction as I am Leonard and Amy's daughter.

Loren H. Bodine "PAPA" On August 12, 2008, Loren H Bodine, 88, died peacefully at his home after a lengthy battle with emphysema. Loren was born in Kuna, Idaho, Jan. 18, 1920, to Clare and Lena (Neglay) Bodine. The Neglay and Bodine families were among the first to settle in Kuna. He graduated from Meridian High School where he was a star runner and pole-vaulter. While attending high school he drove a milk truck for Challenge Creamery. With his dark hair and suntan he was often mistaken for a Basque instead of a Swede and that amused him. Loren attended the College of Idaho and Boise Junior College. He worked at Boeing in Seattle during World War II. He met and married Dorothy Chase during these years. They returned to Meridian with son David and Loren worked at numerous jobs, including milking Jersey cows, farming on the family's 40 acres, opened an appliance store, sold water softeners, established a Kaiser-Frasier car dealership and helped his father at Bodine Oil. Son Douglas was born in Meridian. Loren obtained his real estate license after moving again to Washington, returned to Boise in 1954 and worked for Homefinders Realty. He acquired his broker's license and with four partners, Win Hedrick, Morrie Clayton, Keith Gilmore and Eldon Dean, formed Town & Country Realty. Loren and Win would eventually become partners in Hedrick & Bodine Realty. He was also a partner with Coy Cooper in home construction. Later years he married Patricia Fosburg and enjoyed a happy 25 year union which added an extended family that included Mark (Aneta) Fosburg, Cherilyn (Keith) Lively and her two daughters Chelsea and Tia Briggs. Through the years Loren was a member of the Elks, Masons, Idaho Realty Board and Hillcrest County Club. He loved to golf there and was lucky enough to have two hole-in-ones at that course. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing pool and poker. Loren especially loved his time with his cattle and horses. He is survived by sons David (Janice) of Boise and Doug of Meridian; five granddaughters, Lori (Ed) Andersen, Boise, Julie (Jon) Knight, Meridian, Catherine (Mike) Moad, Boise, Sarah (Lou) Mallane and Anna Bodine, Meridian; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandsons; brother Marvin, Meridian, sister, LaVerne (Harold) Pitkin, Boise, and numerous nephews and nieces. Loren was preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his parents. The family would like to thank caretaker Patsy, Life's Door Hospice and friends Geri and Vicki for their constant support, visits and kindness. Viewing will be on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 at Cloverdale Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4225 Fairview, Meridian.
