Notes for: Jesse Ivle Bodine

He was Ivle Bodine in 1900, Jesse I. Bodine, age 11, living 1910 with his parents in Stanley County, South Dakota and Ivle J. Bodine at his marriage in 1920. In 1920, prior to his marriage, he lived with his brother Russell in Rapid City, Pennington County where he worked in a cigar factory. Clara was the daughter of Milton and Cora May (Bennett) Bechtel. Jesse and Clara divorced and Clara married 2ndly Sammy Waldron. Ivil and Goldie Bodine were buried in Knollcrest Cemetery, Boyd County, Nebraska.

1930 (11 April) Denver, Denver Co.: Irvil BODINE 31 IA barber, Clara 29 NB wife barber, Joyce B. 7 SD dau. Irvil 1st married at 21, Clara at 19.

1940 (13 April) Basin Twp., Boyd Co.: BENNETT, Etta 63 WI widowed, Harvey 28 NB son; BODINE, Ivil 41 IA son-in-law Barber, Goldie 32 NB dau, Loretta Mae 2 SD gdau. [On 1 April 1935 Bodine lived in Denver, Colo.]

BONESTEEL--Funeral services for Ivil Bodine of St. Charles were held In the St. Charles Methodist Church Aug. 3, with the Rev. Joe Baer of Burke officiating. Burial was in the Naper, Neb., cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Fuhrer, Ben Herrmann, Howard Allpress, Lloyd Allpress, Lawrence Nagel and Lester Anderson. Members of the Naper, Neb., VFW served as honor guards. Mr. Bodine was born Feb. 2. 1899 at Eagle Grove, la., and died July 29 at the Burke hospital at the age of 61. As a young man be worked on the Chicago and North Western Railroad. During World War I he enlisted in the Army and served in England. He was married to Goldie Mae Bennett at O'Neill, Neb., May 3, 1937. They moved to St. Charles where he carried mail between St. Charles and Naper. He also did some barber work at Naper. He was a charter member of the VFW -Post at Naper and of the American Legion Post at Herrick. Survivors are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. George D. Winslow of Everett, Wash., and Mrs. William Anderson of San Francisco; one brother, Russell Bodine of Rapid City and three grandchildren.
