Horace Olen Bodine, born 18 Nov 1924 in "Alabama City, Alabama," son of Willie Dewey & Polly Ann (Gipson) Bodine AND Hazel Vivian Frasier, born 29 March 1928 in "Alabama City," dau. of John Ray & Vira Ola (Wilson) Frasier, were issued a marriage license 1 Oct 1943, but there was no marriage return. The couple was indeed married as on 18 May 1945 in Etowah County, George Guy Turner obtained a license to marry Hazel Vivian Bodine who stated she was divorced on 26 Oct 1944 in Gadsden, Etowah County. Her birth was recorded as 29 March 1927.

E. Christopher, J.P. [Note: Horace and Clara Bodine were divorced Aug 1959 in Etowah County and on 28 May 1960 in Clark County, Nevada Clara Mae Bodine married Donald George Garcia (1906-1963) and as Clara M. Garcia she married John C. Trader (1916-2003) in Clark County on 17 Sept 1963.

BOAZ, AL. - Doreen Faye Monestier Bodine, 86, of Boaz, Alabama, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Somers Hospice House in Sebring. She was born on December 20, 1928, in Santa Rosa, California, to the late Frederick Charles and Gladys Margaret (Keith) Monestier and was raised in Fresno, California. She was a graduate of Fresno State University. She was a resident of Florida before moving to Alabama in 2005. She was a retired financial consultant for Merrill Lynch for over 40 years. She attended South Lake Wales Church of God. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret M. Kickasola; grandson, Gary Nielson Bodine and nephew, Gary Nider. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ann Gulley, her husband Barry of Boaz, Alabama; sons, Michael Duane Bodine and his wife Christine of Maui, Hawaii; sister, Jean L. Hess of Lake Wales; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer White and Lanie Loyd, 4 great grandchildren; 2 loving nieces, Peggy Hallett and Carrie Cherry; loving nephew, Darrell Hess. Funeral Mass will be at 1pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church for Gloria Josephine Bodine, age 93, of Rainbow City. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30pm until the hour of service. Father Thomas Kelly will officiate. Burial will at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral will direct services. Mrs. Bodine was a native of Syracuse, New York and a veteran having served in the US Air Force. While in service she was transferred to Italy, where she met her husband Horace "Dick" Bodine. They married and traveled the world with the Air Force before retiring to Rainbow City. Mrs. Bodine was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the VFW. She is preceded in death by her husband, Horace Olen "Dick" Bodine. She is survived by her nieces Nina (John) Puopolo, of Syracuse, NY and Flora Tassone, of Brewerton, NY; several great nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, especially Jerry and Liz Howell. The Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home for Mr. Horace Bodine, 84, Rainbow City, who passed away June 8, 2011. Father Thomas Kelly will officiate. Father Kelly is the pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Birmingham. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge. Horace was retired from the military after serving in three branches. He was also commander of the F.V.W. Post 8600, serving three terms. He was a former member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Dewey and Polly Ann Bodine; his two sons, Kenneth and Richard Bodine; and his grandson, Gary Bodine. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gloria Bodine; son, Michael Bodine; daughter, Margaret Bodine Loyd; granddaughters, Jennifer Bodine and Lanie Loyd; grandson, Tristan Bodine; and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint James Catholic School. Pallbearers will be Michael Bodine and Pat Bodine, Henry McKelvey, Larry and J.L. Bellamy and John Puopolo. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Whiteside, Harvey Pritchett, Robert Hill and James Akin. Special thanks to Wiregrass Hospice, Nurse Trina Morris and Family First Home Health Care and Father Thomas Kelly. Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Father Kelly will perform a Harp Prelude 30 minutes prior to the memorial service.
