Charles G. Reed, farmer, of Steuben County, age 22 on 12 Jan 1908, born in Steuben County, son of John M. Reed & Laura E. Hayes AND Alice M. Bodine, of Plymouth, Richland County, age 18 on 3 July 1908, born in Richland County, dau. of Laurence Guy Bodine & Ella Wolfe, were married 25 July 1908 by L. C. Summers, M.G.
Note: Plymouth is located in both Richland and Huron Counties. The Ohio birth record of Alice Merle Bodine records her birth in Plymouth, Huron County, whereas her marriage record states she was born in Richland County.
On 12 Sept 1918, Charles Reed registered for the World War I draft in Norwalk, Huron County. He was employed as a machinist helper with the B&O Railroad. The Reed family was living 1920 in New Haven, Huron County, Ohio where Charles worked as a steam railroad machinist helper and 1930 in Willard, Huron County where Charles now was employed as a retail grocer.

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Fink funeral home for Mrs. Alice M. Reed, 57, wife of Charles G. Reed, who died unexpectedly at Municipal hospital Wednesday night of last week eight hours after she was admitted. She had been ill about a week with a heart ailment. Mrs. Reed was born in Plymouth, the daughter of L. Guy and Ella Bodine, was married to Mr. Reed in 1908 and had lived in Willard for 35 years. The first five years of their married life were spent in Bedford. Mr. and Mrs. Reed conducted Reed's market on Spring st until their health compelled them to sell about four years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, Pythian Sisters, Women of the Moose and the Emblem Club. Surviving are the husband and two sons, Elden C. of Willard and Kenneth W. of Norwalk; brother Lawrence Bodine of Elyria; sisters, Mrs. Altha Bliss of Elyria and Mrs. Edith Doane of Cleveland; and five grandsons. Rev. H. A. Neff officiated at the funeral and burial was in Greenwood cemetery.
