In 1910, Charles Bodine, 28 and single, lived with his sister and brother-in-law, Altha and Ward Bliss in New Haven, Huron County, working as a brakeman for a steam railroad. On 12 Sept 1918 he registered for the World War I draft in Van Wert, Van Wert County, Ohio. He stated he was a conductor on the Lake Erie and Western Railroad. He also named his wife as Margaret Fern Bodine. In 1920, he lived in Delphos, Van Wert County. His household consisted of his wife Margaret and a daughter Twila, age 11. In April 1930, he lived in Delphos, Allen County, Ohio, still working as a conductor. His household now included his 2nd wife, Clara A., and a stepdaughter, Winifred F. Ray, 23. He was now married to his 2nd wife Clara. Margaret (Garner) Bodine and Clara Garner) Bodine were daughters of Alonzo and Otelia (Runyon) Garner.

Ward Bliss, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Indicott and Mr. and Laylin Bliss leave tonight for Delphos, Ohio, to attend the funeral tomorrow of Charles H. Bodine who died suddenly. Mr. Bodine was a brother of Mrs. Ward Bliss who is ill , and Lawrence Bodine.

All real and personal property is left to the widow, Mrs. Clara A. Bodine, by the will of Charles H. Bodine, who died March 19 at his home in Delphos. The document was probated Friday by Judge Raymond P. Smith. The document was drafted Feb. 9, 1920, and witnessed by H. L. Jauman and Oscar A. Kolkmeyer. Mrs. Bodine was appointed executrix by Judge Smith.

DELPHOS, Dec. 18---Mrs. Charles Bodine, who was found dead in bed at her Pierce-st. home here early Friday morning, died of natural causes. This was a report given from the office of Harry Lewis, Allen-co. coroner who was summoned. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

DELPHOS, Dec. 19---Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Bodine, 56, who died of heart disease at her home here yesterday, will be held at 2 p. m., Monday in the Paul Harter Funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery. Mrs. Bodine had lived in this city 12 years. She was born at New Washington. She is survived by a son, Willis C. Bodine, and a brother, Alonzo Garner, of Bucyrus.
Note: The foregoing child of Clara (Nancy) Bodine, Willis C. Bodine, would have been born after April 1930 when his mother was 50 years old. There is no subsequent record of this child and it seems more likely he was the product of her previous marriage or that the newspaper confused him with Clara's daughter Winifred Ray. It is otherwise difficult to reconcile the facts.
