Mrs. Ella Katherine Bodine, 54, wife of Ray W. Bodine, died yesterday afternoon at their farm home on the Lee lake road in Newton township. Mr. Bodine and his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Bushong, discovered the body on the kitchen floor of their home when they returned from a shopping visit to Battle Creek about 3 p.m. A Union City physician was called and he summoned Coroner W. N. Putman, who attributed death to overexertion and an unsuspected heart condition. Two pails of water on the floor near Mrs. Bodine indicated she had just finished some chores in the yard. Mrs. Bodine was born Sept. 15, 1890, in Phillips, Wis., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Stolling. She and Mr. Bodine were married April 10, 1913 in Allegan, and came to the Newton township farm in 1920. She was a member of the German Lutheran church in Wisconsin.
