Boardman- Edgar Lee Bodine, 82, of Boardman Community Health Care formerly of Trotter Chase died early Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Mr. Bodine was born February 20, 1921 in Youngstown, a son of Osborne and Laurena E. Gardner Bodine. He was a life-long area resident. He was a machinist for GATX formerly William B. Pollock company for 27 years retiring 1986. After retirement he worked for Austinwood Health Care Center in Youngstown. He was a United States Airforce Veteran during World War II and a member of the Lowellville Christian Church. Mr. Bodine was an avid sports fan and Nascar fan. Besides his wife the former Carmel R. Favicchio whom he married April 2, 1949 he leaves two brothers, Alvin (Alice) Bodine of Florida and Tom (Peg) Bodine of Poland. Besides his parents, two sisters Virginia Commings and June Astranis and one brother Roland Bodine preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call from 11:45 until 12:45 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family request memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Organizations.

BOARDMAN---Carmel Rose Bodine, 81, formerly of Poland, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, in the Greenbriar Nursing Home where she had been a resident since September of 1998. Mrs. Bodine was born Dec. 17, 1925 on Penn Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Daniel and Marie Andella Favicchio. She was a 1944 graduate of East High School. Mrs. Bodine was employed as a hair stylist at Strouss for many years until opening her own hair salon called "The Clip Joint" in Poland. Her husband, Edgar Lee Bodine, whom she married April 2, 1949, preceded her in death on June 26, 2003. Mrs. Bodine leaves her two cousins, Frances (Michael) Grannito of Youngstown and Alvin (Alice) Bodine of Longwood, Fla.; her sister-in-law, Margaret “Peggy” Bodine of Youngstown; four nieces, Danielle Higgins of Port Orange, Fla., Michelle (John) Puccio of Hollywood, Fla., Monica Marcovecchio of Plantation, Fla., and Heather Bodine of Canfield, Ohio; three nephews, Michael (Heather) Porcase, Dr. Fred (Karla) Porcase, all of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jeffrey Bodine of New Middletown; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Bodine was preceded in death by her two sisters, Frances (Frederic) Porcase in 1986 and Marie (Ralph) Marcovecchio in 2006; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Bodine in 2005. There were no calling hours or services. Interment was in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Bodine's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601.
