Herbert Filmore Bodine, of Struthers, Ohio, aged 22 on 14 Dec 1915, born in McKeesport, PA, son of Frank Bodine & Susan Craig AND Mildred Marie Birch, of Struthers, Ohio, aged 20 on 16 Feb 1916, born in Hillsville, PA, daughter of Robert Birch and Mary Mercer, were married 12 May 1916 by J. D. Multon, M. E. Church, Lowellville, Ohio.

Herbert Bodine registered for the World War I draft on 8 June 1918 in Mahoning County, Ohio. In 1920, the family lived in Poland Township, Mahoning County and 1930 in Londonville, Ashland County, Ohio where Herbert worked as a machinist. His 1946 Ohio death certificate (no. 99573) reported he was a veteran of the First Nicaragua Insurrection, was employed as a private investigator with the United Service Bureau, died from a coronary occlusion due to a mild case of influenza, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Poland, Mahoning County.
