AUBURN---Herbert E. Pearce, 62, husband of Marjorie Bodine Pearce, of 24 Vista St., died Tuesday at his home after an extended illness. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Bert L. and Arlene English Pearce. He operated the Pearce Dairy for many years, and was employed for 10 years by General Crushed Stone before he retired in 1978. Mr. Pearce was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater with the Marine Corps. He was a member of Cayuga Post 1975 V.F.W. and the Swietoniowski-Kopeczek Post 1324 of the American Legion. Mr. Pearce attended the First Presbyterian Church. Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Bert B., Robert L., and Albert D., all of Auburn; an aunt, Mrs. Pearle C. Pearce of Auburn, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., with the Rev. Ronald D. Sanford officiating. Burial will be in Soule Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Olin A. Rowoth, 79, of 36 Charles St.,Auburn, died Sunday at Huntington Living, Waterloo. Born in Trenton, Mo., he received his bachelor's and master's degrees from University of Missouri. He worked for more than 40 years at Beacon Milling Co., Cayuga, retiring as vice president of research. He was a member of W. Mynderse Rice Post 97, American Legion; LST 683 World War II reunion group; and World Poultry Science Association; an associate member of Cayuga Memorial Detachment of Marine Corps League; and a charter member of the National World War II Memorial. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a lieutenant junior grade on LST 683 in the Pacific theater. Survivors: His wife, the former Marge Bodine Pearce; a daughter, Jean Gaes of Bowie, Md.; two sons, Jeff of Rochester and Alan of Syracuse; three stepsons, Bert, Robert and Albert Pearce, all of Auburn; two sisters, Mary Curtis and Inis Lynch, both of Missouri; three brothers, Alfred, Melvin and Paul, all of Missouri; 12 grandchildren. Services: 11:30 a.m. Thursday at White Chapel Funeral Home. Spring burial, Potter's Hollow, Albany. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 197 South St., Auburn. AUBURN---Marjorie A. (Pearce) Rowoth, 91, of Charles Street, Auburn, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Finger Lakes Center for Living. Marge was born in Owasco on Nov. 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Ackerman Bodine. She graduated from Auburn Business School. Marge enlisted in the U. S. Marines during World War II, stationed in California. She was very dedicated to the Marines and her country. She was proud of serving her country during wartime and throughout her life. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars, past commandant of the Cayuga Memorial Detachment in Auburn, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and former member of the Association of Widowed People. Marge retired from Stott & Davis, where she was employed as an executive assistant. Marge is survived by her children, Bert (Elaine) Pearce, Robert (Linda) Pearce, and Albert (Karen) Pearce; grandchildren, Melissa, Jacqueline, Timothy, Kristyna, Sean, Rob, Kevin, and Michael; her brother, Harry Bodine; stepchildren, Jean (Jerry) Gaes, Jeff (Lynn) Rowoth, and Alan Rowoth; step-grandchildren, Mother of the Sacred Heart (Ruth), Rachael Gaes, Chris, and Dan Rowoth, and nine great-grandchildren. Marge was predeceased by her first husband, Herbert Pearce, in 1981, and her second husband, Olin Rowoth, in 2001; her siblings, Phillip, Marion, David, and George Bodine, Ida Dankin, and Doris Snover. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will be at Soule Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marjorie (Pearce) Rowoth may be made to Meals on Wheels, 10 Hulbert St., Auburn, NY 13021.
