Divorce actions by Mrs. Margaret Bodine Tohill, 30 East Front Street, against Bernard Tohill, same address: marriage in April 1929; desertion in May 1933, charged.

On 16 Oct 1940, Bernard Aloysis [sic] ToHill of Trenton, New Jersey registered for the World War II Draft. He reported he was born 1 Feb 1906 in Trenton, worked for the New Jersey State Planning Board, and named his sister, Mrs. Thomas Francis Rogers, as his next of kin.

Bernard remarried 9 May 1946 in Arlington, Virginia to Frances Regeina Schultz at which time his middle name was spelled Aloysius.

Bernard A. Tohill, 51, husband of Mrs. Frances Schultz Tohill of 107 West State Street, died Friday in St. Francis Hospital. A retired state employee, he was a veteran of World War II and member of Trenton Post 93, American Legion. He also is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Isaac Stewart; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Rogers and Mrs. William Bergen, and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 149 North Warren Street, with interment at the convenience of the family. Friends may call tomorrow evening.

Bernard Tohill served in the U.S. Army from 10 March 1942 to 9 Oct 1945 and was a member of Co. C, 720th Military Police Battalion. He was discharged with the rank of T-4. He died 11 Oct 1957 and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Trenton, New Jersey. Requested by Mrs. Frances R. Tohill, Trenton, N.J.

2nd marriage--1945--KENNETH ALBERT VANHISE.
On 16 Oct 1940, Kenneth Albert Van Hise of Trenton, New Jersey registered for the World War II Draft. he reported he was born 25 April 1911 in Trenton, worked for American Steel and Wire Company, and named Mr. Albert Satterthwaite Van Hise, his father, as his next of kin.

Mrs. Margaret Bodine VanHise, 86, of 98 Lakedale Drive, Lawrence Township, died Thursday, in Helene Fuld Hospital. She was born in Trenton and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a husband, Kenneth A. VanHise; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Steward of Lawrence Township; a sister, Mrs. Mary Sheetz of Drexel Hill, Pa., a brother, Harry Bodine of Trenton, and two grandsons. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Avenue, with the Rev. Philip R. Zink officiating. Interment will be in Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. and contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

TOMS RIVER---Kenneth A. VanHise, 76, of Whiting, died Monday in Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. Born in Trenton, Mr. Van Hise lived most of his life in the Trenton area before moving to Whiting about nine years ago. He retired in 1977 from Tattersall's Oil Co. of Trenton after 32 years service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Husband of the late Margaret Bodine Van Hise, he is survived by his wife, Marion Cartwright; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Isaac Steward II of Lawrenceville; and two grandchildren, Kenneth Scott Steward of Virginia Beach, Va. and Robert Isaac Steward of Charlottesville, Va. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave., Trenton. Burial will follow in Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury. Friends may call from noon until Time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 160 Willowbrook Road, Freehold, N.J. 07728.
