Miss Bessie R. Griggs and Augustine Bodine, of Franklin Park, will be married this evening at the residence of her father, B. S. Griggs at Franklin Park. The ceremony will be performed by Rev. Clifford P. Case, of the Franklin Park Reformed Church.

By Jan 1920, Bess Bodine was widowed and with her daughter was living with her mother in Franklin Township, Somerset County. In April 1930, Bess Bodine, aged 52, remained a widow living with her mother. Bess (Griggs) Bodine was the daughter of Benjamin Schenck and Sarah A. (Suydam) Griggs.

John Augustus Bodine, tax assessor of New Brunswick Township, and formerly tax collector, died suddenly at his home at Franklin Park, Sunday afternoon. While Mr. Bodine had not been in good health for several months, he had not been confined to his bed until the past week, Besides his wife, Mrs. Bessie Bodine, he leaves one daughter, Betty, and a mother, Mrs. Loretta Bodine, of Franklin Park. Mr. Bodine was one of the best known and most popular residents in that vicinity, and was engaged in the general contracting business. He was an active member of the Franklin Park Reformed Church, and had served many years as deacon, and was prominently identified with the Men's Club of the church. His loss will be a keen one to the church. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Clifford Case, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., formerly of Franklin Park, and the interment will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery, Franklin Park, Undertaker Hubbard having charge of the arrangements.

FRANKLIN PARK, Sept. 2.---Mrs. Bessie Griggs Bodine died yesterday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Richard Ginglen, Lincoln highway. She had been ill a long time. Mrs. Bodine was born in this place, June 17, 1878, daughter of the late Benjamin S. and Sarah Ann Suydam Griggs. She was a graduate of New Jersey State Normal School, Trenton, taught at the old Anable School in New Brunswick for many years and retired five years ago after being principal of Franklin Park School. Besides her daughter, she is survived by a brother, Dr. Eugene S. Griggs; two sisters, Mrs. Isaac V. Williamson of North Brunswick and Mrs. George Schlosser of New Brunswick; two grandsons, Richard and Robert Ginglen. Her husband was the late John A. Bodine. A service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Quackenboss Funeral Home, 156 Livingston avenue, New Brunswick. The Rev. Leonard A. Jones of the Six Mile Run Reformed Church will officiate. Interment will be private.

Bess G. Bodine of Franklin Twp., Somerset County, died September 1953 at the New Jersey State Hospital in Marlboro, Monmouth County.
