Floyd Dudley, 47, 1311 East Locust, was dead on arrival at Burge-Protestant Hospital Tuesday after suffering an apparent heart attack while at work for Allied Van Lines. A former resident of Niangua, he had lived in Springfield 17 years. Survivors are his wife, Mertie; three daughters, Mrs. Eva Chamberlain, 818 West Chestnut, and Mrs. Pat Edge and Miss Lorraine Dudley, both of the home; a son, Joseph, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Stokes, Aurora, Colo. and Mrs. Alvis Letterman, Buffalo; and two grandchildren. Arrangements are under direction of Rainey.

Mertie Beatrice Dudley, 74, Springfield, died at 3:07 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, in Cox Medical Center South. On April 24, 1918, in Niangua, she was born to Robert Bryant and Selia Petet Bodine. On Jan. 31, 1937, she was united in marriage to Floyd Louie Dudley, who preceded her in death Aud. 23, 1960. She was a homemaker and a member of West Atlantic Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Dudley. Survivors include a son, Joseph Floyd Dudley, Springfield; three daughters, Eva B. Noonan, Columbia, Patricia Ann Bailey and Doris Lorene Hunter, both of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Funeral Chapel North with the Rev. Mark Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Copening Cemetery, Niangua. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
