Notes for: Jay Dee ("Mike") Bodine

He was Jay Bodine, age 8 in April 1930 and 17 in April 1940, living with his parents in Decatur, Macon County. Many Decatur newspaper articles refer to him as Jay "Mikey" Bodine or just Mikey Bodine.

1st marriage--about 1941--SUSAN OLIVE LOWE.
It is unclear if Jay and Susan were married. His relationship with Susan Lowe produced a daughter, Marsha Lynette Bodine, born 29 June 1941 in Decatur. Her 2017 obituary named her parents as Michael and Sue (Lowe) Bodine.

On 20 July 1943, Jay Mickey Bodine of Decatur, Illinois registered for the World War II Draft. He reported he was born 11 Nov 1921 in Decatur and named his mother, Mrs. Sylvia Bodine, as his next of kin.

Report of a petition filed with the county court on 18 March 1958 to remove custody of "Lynette Bodine, A Delinquent Child" from Mickey Bodine unless he appears in court within 20 days to respond to the petition. [Note: There was no subsequent report on this.]

Susan was married 2ndly before Feb 1946 to Harold Tracy Heaver (1917-1991) and had a son, Brian Tracy Heaver, born 2 March 1949 in Peoria, IL; died 11 Oct 1968 as a Marine Lance Corporal in Vietnam.

DECATUR---Sue O. Heaver, 83, of Decatur, formerly of Peoria, passed away 7 a.m. Thursday (May 3, 2001) in her daughter's home. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials: DMH Home Health & Hospice Services. Mrs. Heaver was born March 1, 1918, in Olive Hill, Ky., the daughter of Elmer and Eva Valandingham Lowe. She retired from Hiram Walker of Peoria after 30 years. Surviving are her son, Don and wife Nancy Lowe of Pinckneyville; daughter, M.L. "Sam" Peters of Decatur; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and one nephew.

1950 Decatur, Macon Co., IL: Jay D. BODINE 28 IL construction, Alberta 26 IL wife capper-chemical.

Jay and Alberta were divorced and on 19 Aug 1955 in Cook Co., IL Alberta Bodine married Thomas C. George.

Alberta is not named as a survivor in the 20 Nov 1984 (Herald and Review) obituary of her brother Thomas Albert Pryor.


3rd marriage--about 1953--HELEN LOUISE STANLEY.
Helen (Stanley) Bodine is the daughter of Charles and Helen Ruth (Fernandes) Stanley.
