He was Fredric, age 2 in Jan 1920 and Fred, age 13, living April 1930 with his parents in Decatur, Macon County. As James F. Bodine, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on 22 Jan 1941 in Los Angeles, California. At the time of his enlistment he stated he was married. His wife, Edna, was the daughter of John Ray and Clara Edna (Stormer) Rager.

Sgt. John Frederick Bodine, son of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Bodine. 933 East Mueller avenue, was killed in an automobile accident near Gridley, Calif., Tuesday, his parents were notified yesterday. His wife, at Yuba City, Calif., said in a telephone conversation yesterday that the car he was driving went into a ditch. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves four brothers, Forrest, Richard, Jay, Earl; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Waller, Mrs. Pearl Trimby. He was born in Sidell in 1917. The body will be brought to the Moran & Sons funeral home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. [Note: Both the Decatur Herald and Decatur Daily Review first reported his name as John, then as James in the funeral notices.]

Funeral services for Sgt. James Frederick Bodine, son of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Bodine, 935 East Mueller avenue, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Moran & Sons' funeral home, with full military honors under direction of Castle Williams post No. 105 of the American Legion. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.

Mrs. Lonnie (Edna M. Rager) Page, 66, of died 6:15 a.m. Monday (Feb. 24, 1986) in St. Mary's Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Mrs. Page was born in Decatur, daughter of Ray and Carrie Rager. She was a member of Church of God. She married Lonnie Boyd Page. He died in 1971. Surviving are her son, Lonnie Ray of Decatur; daughter, Dixie Lee of Decatur; brother, John Rager of Decatur; sisters, Lucille Butler and Nancy Lawrence, both of Decatur; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. One daughter and three sisters preceded her in death.
