Ray Bodine registered for the World War I draft on 5 June 1918 in Paris, Edgar County, Illinois. In 1920, he was working as a hired man for Clifford and Emma Morris in Edgar Township and in 1930, he and his family were living in Paris, Edgar County, where he worked at odd jobs.

Celia is the daughter of Jefferson and Synthia (Cunningham) Davis.

Ray Bodine, 75, of Paris died 6:15 a.m. Wednesday in his home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Blume-Stewart-Carroll Funeral Home, Paris, where friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Paris. Mr. Bodine was born in Jefferson County, son of James D. and Mary Elizabeth King Bodine. He retired in 1968 from Midwest Body Manufacturers after 22 years of service. He married Cecelia E. Davis in Paris, March 22, 1921. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Mary Louise Basquette and Delores Jean Bodine, both of Paris; son, Donald Ray of Helena, Ark.; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
