In 1910, Leslie Bodine, age 36 and single, lived in Plymouth Township, Washington County, North Carolina where he was president of a saw mill company. In 1920, he and his family lived in Lovingston, Nelson County, Virginia where he worked as foreman of a rock quarry. In 1930, the family lived in Bowling Green, Caroline County, Virginia where Leslie was engaged as a merchant in retail dry goods. Leslie Bodine was buried in Lakewood Cemetery, Bowling Green. The deaths of Leslie and Bessie Bodine were reported in the Bowling Green "Caroline Progress" of 10 July 1952 and 15 July 1965.

BODINE--Died at his home in Bowling Green, July 8, 1952, aged 79, Leslie Albert Bodine. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Norman Bodine, 2 daughters, Mrs. David E. Zimmermann, of Richmond, and Mrs. William L. Sisson, of Norfolk, Va.; 1 sister, Mrs. Fred R. Starks, of Los Angeles, Calif., and 5 grandchildren. Remains rest at the Manns-Ray Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Funeral services from Bowling Green Methodist Church, 4 P.M. Wednesday, July 9. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.

In June 1962, Bessie Norman Bodine applied for a SSN and reported she was born 28 July 1884 in Tyrell County, NC, dau. of Cicero J. & Celestar G. (Wood) Norman.
