JACQUELINE T. BODINE of ISLAND HEIGHTS passed away Monday, Oct. 16, at home. Born in Trenton, she lived in the Green Island section of Dover Township before moving to Island Heights 33 years ago. She was a member of the Grace Saint Paul Episcopal Church, Trenton. She was a 1955 graduate of Bucknell University, where she majored in finance. Upon graduation, she was employed by General Motors Corp. in the Labor Relations Department. Since moving to the Shore area, Jackie was a first grade teacher in the Bayville Elementary School and was a former Island Heights tax collector. Mrs. Bodine was later employed by the Ocean County Board of Realtors. Surviving are her husband, C. Thomas Bodine; two sons, Thomas of Seaside Park, and Gary of Toms River; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bob Tupper of Harrisburg, Pa.; and five grandchildren. Services will be private. C. Thomas Bodine, 80, of Island Hts., NJ, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at his residence. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Bodine moved to Island Hts. after graduating from college. He was a teacher at Central Regional High School since its opening in 1956; he retired in 1989. The husband of the late Jackie; Mr. Bodine is survived by 3 children, Thomas and Gary Bodine and Karen Tupper. He is also survived by a brother, Paul, and 5 grandchildren, Donovan, Vanessa and Cameron Bodine and Robert and Elizabeth Tupper. Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family and under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 809 Central Ave., Seaside Park, NJ.
