Kate (Hood) Bodine was the daughter of Albert L. and Mary Gibbons (Lawson) Hood. Kate Hood graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1937. Robert Bodine was a partner in the brokerage firm of DeHaven, Townsend, Crouter and Bodine, in Philadelphia and managing director of the W. H. Newbold Company. See "The Sharples-Sharpless family,". Robert C. Bodine of Solebury Township died Wednesday at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia at the age of 72. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George I. and Catherine Weeks Bodine. Mr. Bodine was managing director of the W. H. Newbold Co., Philadelphia. He served on the boards of many corporations and was a member of the board of Septa for many years. A trustee of the Solebury Monthly Meeting of Friends, he was active in the Society of Friends, the New Hope Historical Society and many other civic and community organizations. Surviving are his wife, Kate D. Hood Bodine; a daughter, Sarah H. Bodine, New York; a son, Robert C. Jr., Philadelphia; and two grandchildren. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the George School, Newtown, 18940, or the New Hope Historical Society, New Hope, 18938.

Kate D. H. Bodine of Newtown died Monday. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Bodine. Mrs. Bodine was a clerk of the Mary Blackmar Scholarship Fund, a past president of Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, a member of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, a member of the board of directors of Chandler Hall, and a founding member, along with her husband, of the New Hope Historical Society. She was a member of Solebury Friends Meeting. Surviving are a son, Robert C. Bodine Jr. of Philadelphia; a daughter, Sarah Hood Bodine of New Hope; two grandchildren; and a brother, William Hood of Philadelphia. There will be no services. Contributions may be made to Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, Box 103, Washington Crossing 18977, or to the Mary Blackmar Scholarship Fund, checks made out to Solebury Meeting, addressed to Susan B. Tinsman, treasurer, Solebury Monthly Meeting, Box 106 Lumberville 18933.
