Roland Bodine registered for the World War I draft on 5 June 1917 in Bordentown, Burlington County. He was single and working as an invoice clerk. In 1920, he was living with his mother in Bordentown and working as a bookkeeper for a tire company. The Bordentown "Register" of 27 Nov 1925 reported--"Rowland R. Bodine graduated from the Eckell's College of Embalming, Philadelphia on November 24. He was vice president of the class of 59 students and is employed by Clark B. Rogers of Bordentown." In 1930, the family was living in Trenton, Mercer County, where Roland worked as an undertaker. In 1942, he registered for the World War II draft as a resident of Bordentown and his employer as Roger Funeral Service which firms he was still working for in July 1944.

Helen L. Bodine, 82, of 22 North Overbrook Avenue died Tuesday at her home after an long illness. A lifelong resident of the Trenton area, she was a retired clerk for the State of New Jersey. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Guild and the Alter and Rosary Society of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. She is survived by her husband, Roland R. Bodine, a son, Robert M. Bodine; three sisters, Mrs. William Furry, Mrs. William McDermott, and Mrs. Florence Goehrig and several nieces and nephews, all of Trenton. The funeral service will be Saturday at 8 a.m. from the Hartmann Funeral Home, 539 Centre Street. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. Interment will be in Bordentown Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

POINT PLEASANT---Roland R. Bodine, 88, of Rispo Drive died Friday in Mercer Medical Center. A native of Fieldsboro, he lived in the Bordentown-Trenton area all his life. He was a retired administrator in the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry, and was the former business manager of the former Clark B. Rogers Funeral Home in Bordentown. Husband of the late Helen Schindewolf Bodine he is survived by a son, Robert Bodine of Pleasant Point; a sister-in-law, Grace McDermott of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Hartmann Funeral Home, 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Burial will be in Bordentown Cemetery. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
