Miss Emma Frances Bodine, daughter of Mrs. Mary Bodine, 141 Church st., Bridgeton, became the bride of Cpl. Raymond A. Edwards, U.S. Army, last Friday evening at the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, Bridgeton. Rev. Paul C. Greiner, pastor of the Methodist Church at Florence, officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Howard L. Bodine, of Bridgeton. Miss Ruth Bodine, of Bridgeton, niece of the bride, served as maid of honor.

Raymond A. Edwards, 72, of Sewell, died Tuesday at the Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury. Born in Millville, Mr. Edwards was a Mantua Township resident for 45 years. He was a former member of Mantua Township Committee, serving as mayor in 1960, 1961 and 1963, and from 1966 to 1970. He had served as chairman of the Mantua Township Planning Board since 1989. He was a former member of the Mantua Township and Clearview Regional school boards. Mr. Edwards was a retired vice president of sales for Acme Markets in Philadelphia after 42 years. A charter member of the Mantua Lions Club, he belonged to the United Methodist Church of Mantua. A former Sunday School teacher, he served as the church lay leader and was former lay speaker for the Methodist Conference. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Mantua, Union and Norris streets, Mantua. Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua. Interment will be in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. Contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Mantua Memorial Fund, 220 Union St., Mantua, 08051.

EDWARDS, Raymond A., of Sewell on October 6, 1992, age 72 years. Husband of Emma (nee Bodine). Also survived by 3 daughters: Kathy Durand of Sewell, Joyce Wescott of Barnsboro and Cheryl Sastic of Elmer; a sister Nadine Goodale, 7 grandchildren: Amy, Emily and Patrick Durand, Michael and Jeffrey Westcott, Tim and Craig Sastic. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services 10:30 am Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Mantua. Friday evening they may call at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua from 6 to 9 pm. Interment Eglington Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church Memorial Fund.

Deceased Name: EMMA B. EDWARDS, 83 Former chief operator for Bell Telephone in Bridgeton. Emma B. Edwards (nee Bodine), age 83, of Mantua died Friday at home. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and the late Mary Mingen Bodine. Wife of the late Raymond A. Edwards. Mrs. Edwards has lived in Mantua Township since 1947. She was a member of the Mantua Lions Club Ladies Auxiliary, the Mantua Township Republican Club and the United Methodist Church of Mantua and the Friendship Class. She was a former chief operator for Bell Telephone in Bridgeton. She also had been an operator for Cornell Construction Co. in Woodbury. She is survived by a daughter Kathy and her husband, Mark Durand, of Sewell a daughter Joyce and her husband, Ed Wescott, of Barnsboro a daughter Cheryl and her husband, Dan Sastic, of Elmer seven grandchildren, Amy, Emily and Patrick Durand, Michael and his wife Amy Wescott, Jeffrey Wescott, Tim and Craig Sastic a great-grandson, Caleb Wescott three sisters-in-law, Nadine Goodale, Geneva Bodine and Kolo Bodine and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the United Methodist Church of Mantua, 201 Mantua Blvd., Mantua. Interment will be in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
