Walter B. (Shad) Bodine, 65, of 22 W. Maple Ave., Cedarville died in Bridgeton Hospital Thursday morning. In failing health for five years, he had been seriously ill for the past several months. Born in Mickleton, Mr. Bodine lived in Cedarville for 29 years, having previously lived in Bridgeton. He was employed with Central Railroad of New Jersey for 32 years prior to his retirement five years ago. He was a member of the American Legion, Nabb-Leslie Post 82 of Millville and the North Italy Beneficial Association of Vineland. He was a former member of the Bridgeton and Vineland Moose lodges. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy Seabees. He attended Cedarville United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Geneva S. Bodine; two sons, Richard C. Bodine, Millville, and Walter B. Bodine Jr., Bridgeton; two daughters, Carol J. Tanimae and Brendfa L. Hewitt, both of Bridgeton; four brothers, Howard L. Bodine, Bridgeton, Frank Bodine, Baker, Nev., the Rev. Carlton Bodine, Vincentown and Vernon Bodine, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Lillian Ansink, Bridgeton, and Emma Edwards, Mantua; and four grandchildren. The Rev. Stanley Stanton, pastor of Center Grove United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Francis Champion, pastor of Fortescue Chapel, will conduct services at 2 p.m. Monday from the Carll & Padgett Funeral Home, Bridgeton. A viewing will be held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Geneva Arona (Stepp) Bodine, passed away at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, on November 19, 2016, after a 5 year illness. She was 92 years old and lived a life filled with different and exciting adventures. She was well known as the owner and operator of Bodine's Catering in Cedarville. Those left to cherish her memories are three children, Carol Tanimae (Tom) Oviedo, Fl., Richard Bodine, Davenport, Fl, Brenda Hewitt, (Gary) Bridgeton, NJ. 9 grandchildren, Brandon Tanimae, Lindsey Dembkoski, Rich Bodine, Andy Bodine, Faith Bodine, Brent Bodine, Melissa Hitchner, Michael Hewitt and Matthew Hewitt, along with15 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her dear friend and partner for the last 38 years and caregiver to the end, James Wilson, Jr., and sister, Barbara Greer, Chauncey, W. Va., along with many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Wednesday morning, November 30th at 11:00 at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Geneva's memory be made to the Upper Deerfield EMS, Upper Deerfield Fire Company Station 33 or a .
