Mrs. Sophie Bodine, widow of Cornelius Bodine, died at her home on Main street on Thursday morning. She had been ill but a short time with pneumonia and was In her sixty-eighth year. Mrs. Bodine was born In Peekskill November 14, 1841, the daughter of Abram O. Lent and Abbie Sherwood. She had resided here all her life, except eighteen years spent in Massachusetts after the death of her husband. She was married to Mr. Bodine in 1867. He died about thirty years ago. She was a member of the First M. E. Church since girlhood and an active worker. She was a charter member of Golden Rod Rebekah Lodge, No. 202, I. O. O. F., and for ten years had been the guardian of the outer door. She was also a charter member of White Shield Council, Degree of Pocahontas, and one of its trustees. She was a member of the Shepherds of Bethlehem; also an active worker In the Women's Relief Corps. All these orders will take part at her funeral. She Is survived by three sisters, Mrs. George Cronk, Mrs. David Griffin and Mrs. Henry Heleker. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock from the First M. E. Church.
