In 1900, Charles and Nettie Bodine were living in Penngrove, Salem County where Albert was employed as a house painter. In May 1904, the family had moved to San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas and were living there in 1920. Charles Bodine registered for the World War I draft on 7 Sept 1918 in San Angelo, Texas. At the time he worked for the National Lead Company of St. Louis as a salesman. He noted in his registration that he had lost part of his right eye. In 1930, the Bodines were living in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas where Charles worked as a salesman. Charles Bodine was buried in Mission Burial Park, San Antonio. His wife Nettie was not named in his obituary.

Charles Mills Bodine, age 85, of 1516 W. Woodlawn. died Friday at a local hospital. He was a member of the Beacon Hill Presbyterian Church, Tannehill Lodge No. 52, A.F. & A.M. and Knights Templar of Dallas. Tex., and the Shrine Temple of Waco. Tex. Survivors: son Newton B. Bodine: grandchildren. Newton B. Bodine. Jr.. Mrs. Barbara. M. Reichel all of San Antonio; several nieces and nephews. Service Tuesday at 1:30 o'clock at the Porter Loring Chapel with the Rev. H. Richnrd Copeland officiating. Interment in Mission Burial Park under the direction of PORTER LORING.
