Ernest "Moose" Bodine, 79, of Houlton, Maine, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a master pipe fitter, died at his home on Wednesday, May 30, 2001. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, June 1, 2001, 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton. Masonic services are scheduled for Friday, 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home, officiated by Monument Lodge No. 96. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 2, noon, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. James Flye. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. HOULTON -- Mary Louise (Higgins) Bodine, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Mount Saint Joseph's Continuing Care Facility in Waterville after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 15, 1922, in Houlton, the daughter of Stanley and Sylvia (Bates) Higgins. Mary Louise was a lifelong resident of Houlton and was a graduate of Houlton High School, class of 1940. She loved the outdoors and hunting. She was a member of the Maine Big Buck Club, was proud to be a resident of Aroostook County and loved its beauty and its people. She was a lifelong Republican and a die-hard Yankee fan (we won't hold that against her). Mary Louise was a caregiver first and foremost to her family and friends. She is survived and deeply missed by her two children, her daughter, Rebecca and her husband, Carl Young, of Mount Airy, Md., and one son, Matthew Bodine and his wife, Nancy, of South China; one beloved foster brother, Russell Rodgerson and his wife, Brenda, of Island Falls; a special niece, Salli (Higgins) Graham of Houlton; two granddaughters, Alison (Young) Stone of Union Bridge, Md., and Audrey Young of Potomac Falls, Va.; one grandson, Madison Bodine of South China; one great-grandson, Jeremy Stone of Union Bridge, Md.; one nephew, Micah Rodgerson of Bangor; grandnieces and many cousins; a lifelong friend, Arlene (Ramsey) Coyle of Windsor, Conn.; and a sister-in-law, Donna Tracy. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest "Moose" Bodine ; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Higgins; and one brother, Robert Higgins. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Houlton Wesleyan Church on Sunday with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
