LAKELAND -- Mr. Amsa "Bo" Bodine Jr. of Lakeland died Friday (Jan. 15, 1999) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 74. Born in Ithaca, N.Y., on Oct, 19, 1924, he moved to Lakeland from Mecklenburg, N.Y., 46 years ago. He was a retired salesman for Snap-On Tools. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, serving in the 1st Division, which liberated Guam. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Classic Auto Club. He was a Protestant. He was a member of the Mecklenburg First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha E. Bodine, Lakeland; son, Tim Bodine, Lakeland; daughters, Gilda Dyal, Lakeland, and Sheila Thompson, Windermere; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home Northside Chapel, Lakeland. Funeral services will be Monday at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Gentry Morrison Northside, Lakeland.
