Notes for: Hannah Rebecca Bodine

Brian Bodine says the name on her tombstone is definitely Hannah "R." Wood. I did have her middle initial as "P." I later found her name in her marriage record as Hannah Rebecca Bodine.

Here is a picture of her stone sent to me by Brian Bodine:

Gravestone of John E. Bodine

This image is too small to read clearly, but Brian Bodine sent me this transcription:

John E. Bodine 1842-1895
Jane H. Everett his wife 1842-1931
Caroline W. Bodine 1869-1950
Hannah R. Wood 1875-1954

From Ronny Bodine:

Harry Wood lived with his family 1900 in Delaware Township, Hunterdon County engaged in farming. He reported that in 3 years of marriage his wife had borne 1 child who was then living with them. In April 1910, Hannah Wood worked as a servant in the home of William and Josephine Bailey in Stockton. She reported she had been married 13 years and had borne 2 children, but only her son Paul, also living with her, survived. Her husband was not included with the family. In Jan 1920, Hannah Wood, now divorced, lived with her unmarried sister, Carrie, in Lambertville, Hunterdon County.

From State of Pennsylvania Certificate of Death for Mrs. Hannah R. Wood, of Hellerton, widowed, born 5 Sept 1875 in Stockton, Northampton Co., Penn. to John Bodine and Jane H. Everett; died of leukemia 6 Sept 1954 in Hellerton; buried Sandy Ridge Cemetery, Hunterdon Co., NJ. Informant was Paul B. Wood of Hellerton.

Children: Paul B. (May 1898).
