Notes for: George Miller Bodine

I am guessing that the George M./W. Bodine who is listed in the 1900 Census of Chester, Morris Co., NJ as the grandson of Gilbert and Sarah A. Bodine was Benjamin's son by his first wife. He was listed as age 17, born Apr. 1883 in NJ. There is later a George M. Bodine listed in the 1930 Census of Roxbury Twp., in Morris Co., NJ. He is 47 and and a carpenter. He was married at age 35. His wife is Edna Bodine, age 47, married at 35. No children are shown.

From Ronny Bodine:

In 1900, Geo. M. Bodine, born April 1883, lived with his grandparents, Gilbert and Sarah Bodine, in Chester Township, Morris County, New Jersey. For whatever reason, after 1910, George cut five years off of his age so that he was appeared to have been born in 1888. Yet, he was living at the time of the 1885 New Jersey State Census.

In 1910, George Bodine, age 27 and single, lived with his parents in Phillipsburg, Warren County and worked as a machinist for a rock drilling company.
