James J. Houghton, 21, of Bradford, Pa., carpenter AND May Bodine, 20, of Bradford, Pa., daughter of Frank L. Bodine, were married 29 Aug 1894 at Bradford by Angelus O'Connor, M.G.

On 12 Sept 1918, James Jotham Houghton registered for the World War 1 draft in Bradford, McKean County. He reported he was born 11 Oct 1872 and that Sarah May Houghton, his wife, was his next of kin. In April 1930, he was living in Bradford with his 2nd wife, Marion.

Mrs. Sarah M. Hougton, 48 years old, of No. 55 Brook street, a well known resident of the city of Bradford for forty-six years, died at her home at 2:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon following a week sickness of pneumonia. Mrs. Houghton came to Bradford when a small girl of two years. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning from St. Bernard's church. She is survived by her husband, James Houghton, her mother , Mrs. Felicia Bodine, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Holtz, Shortsville, N. V. ; Miss Grace Houghton , Bradford; two sons, Frank M. Houghton, Custer City, and Perry G. Houghton, Bradford, and two sisters, Mrs. George Hemphill, Bradford, and Miss Irene Bodine, (Sister Mary David), Convent of St. Mary of the Woods in Indiana. She was secretary of the W.C.T.U. Interment in Oak Hill cemetery.
