In 1900, Mary Smith, widow, and her daughter Ola (Olive) was living with her parents in Gallagher, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. In all liklihood, her husband, Richard W. Smith was he, aged 12, living with his mother and siblings in Jersey Shore in 1860. Richard W. Smith and Emma R. Bodine married at the Presbyterian Church in Jersey Shore on 2 April 1883.

Their only child was Olla Smith, born 28 Sept 1885. Her Pennsylvania Certificate of Death records her death on 5 Sept 1918 in Jersey Shore, Lycoming County. Her parents were Richard W. Smith and Emma R. Bodine. The informant was Dr. Samuel R. Smith [her great-uncle].
