Thomas and Lola Bodine were living 1910 in McClellan Township, Jefferson County and in Decatur, Macon County in 1920-1940. In 1910 he was engaged in farming, in 1920 was working as a teamster, in 1930 was manager of a coal hauling business and in 1940 was a night watchman at a warehouse. He registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sept 1918 in Decatur and reported he was born 23 Aug 1880 and Mrs. Lola Bodine was his next of kin. In 1942 he registered for the World War II Draft and reported he was born 23 Aug 1877 in Jefferson County, Illinois with Mrs. Ida Bodine as his next of kin. [Note: Thomas Bodine gave his birth date as 23 Aug 1877, but according to the 1880 census, taken 23 June, he is not included with his family. His sister Elizabeth, age 5, was the youngest child in the family.]

Thomas Bodine, 26, born in McClellan Twp., son of A. J. Bodine AND Lola Stokes, 21, born in Illinois, dau. of John Stokes, were married 23 May 1909 in Elk Prairie, Jefferson County.

Funeral services for Thomas J. Bodine, 75, of 1928 N. Morgan St., will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today. Bodine, who had been ill for three years, died at 4:25 a.m. yesterday in Decatur and Macon County Hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1877, in Mt. Vernon. He was a son of Andrew and Ellen Bodine. He and Lola Stokes were married in June, 1908. They moved to Decatur from Mt. Vernon 32 years ago. Bodine was a trucker. He leaves his wife, son Jesse, brother James, sister Mrs. Ida Bowman and four grandchildren, all of Decatur.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lola C. Bodine, 72, of Monticello, formerly of Decatur, will be at q:30 pm today at J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. She died at 5: 25 a.m. yesterday in Kirby Memorial Hospital, Monticello. She had been ill for about a year. Mrs. Bodine lived in Decatur for 50 years, from 1910 until last April when she left to make her home with her son, Jeff Bodine, in Monticello. She was born in Sullivan Nov. 5, 1888. In 1908 she was married to Thomas Bodine in Mount Vernon. He died Oct. 25, 1952. Besides her son Jess, she leaves four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three brothers.
