Hello,

Jeremiah Marrow Bodine is Mary C. Bodine's Father. I have an entire photo album with pictures and most of these pictures my family has no idea who the people are in them. I have a picture with Mary C. and three other women, there are pictures of children, in some of the research that I have done someone mentioned a tall slender man with a long white beard, they mention that he was easily recognized by his description, I think that man is in one of my pictures, and he is with two other men in the picture. Most of these pictures could very possibly be mostly of the Bodine side of the Family. Mary C. Bodine was living with my Grandmother ( her Daughter) until her death in 1937. Most of the photos came from a studio in Rushville, but there are two other studios one from Ohio and one from Illinois. the names that are mentioned are Sargent, Mckinley and Smith. Does any of this ring a bell with you?

Thanks,
Cheryl

Subject: Bodine Family

Hello, I am the descendant of Mary C. Bodine of Rushville Born 1868, she died in 1937 and is buried in the East Hill Cemetary in Rushville next to her first Husband William P Hacker, together they had one child Lillian Hacker. This was my Grandmother. I have been in touch with Denise who gave me the information about Mary C. Bodine's Father's name and the information was confirmed by living relatives. My Grandmother however married a man named Charles Irven Burns and I noticed on your site that your family has a bible with the Bodine - Burns names, I was wondering what family information that you might have on the Burns, because I do have some information on the Burns family and I know where the Early Burns Family members were buried, the Church and Cemetary have been in my family, for close to 200 years. Also Mary C. Bodine was married at least three times and possibly a fourth, 1st husband: William P. Hacker, B. Feb. 18, 1856 D. Jan. 18, 1906 son of Thomas P. G. Hacker, B. 1830 in Va, D. Aug. 6,1891 in Shelb County, In They had one child together Lillian 2nd marriage to:

Jim (James) Martin, no children, and 3rd marriage to William P. Campbell, no children. I would be interested in any other Bodine or Burns information that you might have.

Thanks, and nice to meet you!

Dave,
... Charles Irven Burns was married to my Grandmother. Mary C. Bodine and William P Hacker's Daughter, Lillian Hacker Burns, died Mar. 28 1995., in Shelby county, buried at Norristown Cemetary. Charles Irven Burns died June 6 1970 and is also buried at the Norristown Cemetary. This Church that contains the cemetary has been in the family since 1850 era, church ground was donated by the burns family, and built by members of the Burns family in the 1800's. There was an article I read about the church when I was younger on how the church came into existance, the article was from the Shelbyville News.

... The 1910 census did state that Catherine's husband was her 3rd. There is no record of their marriage in Indiana, nor that of her 2nd husband, so they could crop up anywhere. I placed Jamess Martin in as her 2nd husband with a marriage date of about 1907.

From Ronny Bodine (Oct. 10, 2020):
