Lydia does not appear to have the surname "Bodine" in the 1870 Census of Rushville, Rush Co., IN. Only she and Elisha are listed in household #336 (right below son Jeremiah Bodine). However, there is a marriage record for them saying they were wed on July 11, 1870. Since the census was taken on July 22, you would think they were married. Maybe she kept her maiden name (or name of her previous husband - if she had one). I can't read her surname from the copy of the census I have, but it looks something like "Aron Lydia A" (or Arou). They appear to be a separate household in the house of Jeremiah Bodine. Elisha is listed as Elijah. He is 79 and born in NY.
Her last name "Rowe" must have been the last name of her fist husband. We do not think it was her maiden name.
