Hi Dave, I will give you what we have.

General Index to Estate - Hardin Co. Ohio - Probate Court
Vol. 8 Page 290 - Gertrude D. Bodine
Admin, W.C. Bodine, Exec. Journal Vol. 2 Pg. 311

There are newspaper clippings that we have from Hardin County also in reference to Mrs. W. C. Bodine's death. Also, have William C. Bodine Sr. newspaper death announcement. Also have a copy of the Census of Licking County Ohio in Newark , Ohio of William Bodine-age 38-born in New York, Rachel was his wife--age 37 and she was born in Ohio and there were 2 children in the household and they were also born in Ohio. The census date is June 10th 1870. One of the children listed is William C. Bodine as age 1 and the daughter Mary was 10. The elder William Bodine listed above is the same William Bodine that died in Hardin County, Kenton, Ohio. He was born September 1, 1829 and he died on June 9th, 1911 at 7pm -- cause of death was paralysis. It also states that the person giving the info was William Bodine Jr. of Kenton also. The death certificate also lists the birthplace as New York and that his occupation was salesman. The name of his father is Bodine and no 1st name is listed. Maiden name of mother is listed as: don't know.

As a side note, I have written that in 1810 U.S. Census of New York in Orange County; Local: Montgomery; Roll 29 Page 181
William Bodine was also listed......is this the same as you have?
I got that info from the genealogy library located in Ft. Wayne Indiana.

Another interesting note from the 'The kenton Daily Democrat' newspaper obit listing states that Mr. Bodine had moved to Pittsburg 10 years prior to his death. Mr. Bodine suffered a paralytic stroke about 4 years after moving to Pittsburg. It also states that Mr. Bodine was survived by his son, Wm. Jr of Kenton and his daughter, Mrs. O. P. Rank of Cleveland. His body was taken to Newark at the old home.

Now for another note into this crazy world of genealogy. I have a death certificate for a Nettie B. Bodine. She died on December 27, 1918 in Kenton Ohio. She was born on February 28, 1871 in Licking Co. Ohio. Her father's name is listed as: Boyles --no birthplace listed for father and nothing on her mother. She is listed as occupation: housewife. So she must have been born a 'Boyles' and married a 'Bodine' from what I can figure out. The person to give the info was W. C. Bodine of Kenton Ohio. So I am assuming that this person must be the same son of Wm. Bodine Sr. Because at the time of Nettie's death, the elder Mr. Wm. Bodine was already deceased.
********* I just figured this out-------Nettie B. Bodine is indeed Mrs. W. C. Bodine (the son) because he is the one giving the info on the death cert. info. There was also an obit listing in The Kenton Daily Democrat (Hardin Co. Ohio) on Monday, December 30, 1918. Nothing was listed about her husband or her children in the newspaper clipping. **************

So Dave, I hope that I have not confused you more. One thing just leads to another in this crazy family search. But you know...it's exciting and fun to me! I do hope that I've been of some help to you. Btw, if you'd like any of these copies that I have, send me your snail mail address and I'll be more than happy to send them to you.
Have a great fall and let me know your thoughts on the questions that I have asked above.

Hi Mike,

I saw the following information from you at a web site:

A ' William Bodine' was listed in the 1870 Licking County Ohio census
as being 38 years of age at the time. It also lists him as being born in
New York. Now the other interesting fact; there is another William
Bodine listed in the 1820 U.S. Census of NewYork in Orange County,
Locale: Montgomery, Roll 29 Page 181.

The 1st William Bodine listed above died in Kenton, Hardin County,
Ohio on 6/9/1911. I have a copy of the death certificate. He is also the
same person in the 1870 Licking Co., Ohio census.

I don't have this William in my data. Can you send me the death
certificate info you have on him? I'd appreciate anything else you have
figured out about him, too.

Best regards,
Dave Bodine
