From Chemung County, New York Marriage Records:
Mayne C. Bodine AND Lula M. Scott were married 27 March 1900 in Elmira.

Mayne, age 30 and single, was living 1900 with his sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Clarence Shumway, in Corning, Steuben County, New York, where he worked as a trainman. On 19 Dec 1902, Mayne C. Bodine was appointed Postmaster of the Koress Post Office and served until Oct 1921. The 1908 Anderson's Directory and Reference Guide of Tioga County notes that Mayne C. and Lulu S. Bodine, residents of Delmar Township, had moved to Dresden, New York. In 1910-1920, Mayne Bodine and his family were living in the Village of Dresden, Torrey, Yates County, New York where in 1910 he now worked as a station agent for the New York Central Railroad, reporting that in 10 years of marriage, Lula had borne one child, and in 1920 was working as a freight agent. In 1920, his widowed mother-in-law, Anna M. Scott, was living with them. In April 1930, Lulu S. Bodine, age 51, was a widow, living with her mother in Dresden and operating a beauty parlor.

M. C. Bodine, agent of the Pennsylvania Division, New York Central Railroad in Dresden, N.Y. died Saturday morning, November 28 at 7 o'clock at his home in Dresden. He had been ill about ten days and his death was the result of complications of diseases. Mr. Bodine was born March 18, 1869, in Wellsboro, and in 1893 entered the employ of the New York Central in the capacity of brakeman. In 1902 he received an appointment as telegraph operator and gradually through hard work and close attention to duty became agent at Dresden. His death will be mourned by every railroad man on the division and by his numerous friends. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Marion, at home. [Note: But the New York Death Records report he died in Dundee, Yates County which is 11 miles from Dresden.]

Mrs. Lula S. Bodine, a former resident of Dresden and Dundee, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 1949, following a long illness. She was born Nov. 8, 1876, in Rome. In early life she married Mayne C. Bodine, and they lived in Dresden. Following his death she moved to Dundee, where she conducted a beauty parlor for a number of years. Since then she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Stanley Harris of Pines Lake, N.J. In recent years she has spent the summer at the Harris cottage on Squaw Point, Seneca lake. Besides her daughter, Mrs. Harris, she is survived by a granddaughter, Miss Betty Harris of Pines Lake. The body was brought to Dundee and the funeral was held Saturday morning, with the Rev. M. Ford Crippen of the Dundee Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Lake View cemetery, Penn Yan.

Mrs. Mayne Bodine, formerly of Wellsboro, died Sept. 21. She resided with her daughter, Mrs. Stanley Harris, of Pines Lake, N.J., R.D. 1, who survives; also one granddaughter. Charles W. Bodine and Attorney H. E. Bodine, of Wellsboro, are cousins of Mayne Bodine, who died several years ago.
