Clarence G. Bodine, 72, a Livonia resident and retired Chrysler Corp. shift engineer, died Friday of cancer at Providence Hospital in Southfield. Mr. Bodine worked 31 years at Chrysler and retired in 1976. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. As a chief petty officer, he served from 1940 to 1945 on two ships, the USS Dubuque and the USS Starr. Mr. Bodine is survived by his wife, Aldora; daughters Beverly Wassberg and Sheryl Walsh, and five grandchildren. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, 23720 Farmington Road in Farmington. A half-hour visitation will precede 10 a.m. services Monday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 16360 Hubbard in Livonia. Burial will be in Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia.

Beloved wife of the late Clarence Bodine; loving mother of Beverly (Charles) Wassberg and Sheryl (Thomas) Walsh; cherished grandmother of Gregory, Katie and Bradley Wassberg; and Brian and Megan Walsh. Great Grandmother of eight. Sadly, Aldora is preceded in death by her brothers Stanley, Bert, Lester, Merlin, Roy, Floyd and Roland Lundsten. Visitation Thursday, April 5, 2-4 pm, with a 4 pm service, at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, 23720 Farmington Road (btw. 9-10 Mile Rds., just N of Grand River), downtown Farmington (248-474-5200). Aldora will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia. Memorial tributes suggested to charity of the donor's choice.
