Jess and Ada Bodine, who lived all of their married life in Jefferson County, were buried in South Hickory Hill Christian Church Cemetery, Jefferson County. In June 1900, Ada stated she had borne 3 children, all then living. In April 1910, she had born 6 children, all then living.

Jesse D. Bodine died at 6 a.m. today at his home on Route 1, in Dodds township. He was 88 years, one month, and six days old. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at South Hickory Hill church with the Rev. Marsh Harpole officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The body will be in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4 p.m. tomorrow. Mr. Bodine was a farmer. He was born Feb. 11, 1871 in McClellan township, the son of George W. and Sarah E. (Quinn) Bodine. On Nov. 1, 1891, in Jefferson county, he was married to Ada Drennan, who survives. Other survivors Include three daughters, Inez Quinn and Ruth Henry, both of Mt. Vernon, and Pansey Sulcer of Waltonville; two sons, Luther and Jesse D. Bodine of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Tennie Collins of Benton, and Etta Harpool and Bessie Reece, both of this city; 10 grandchildren; and 16 greatgrandchildren. Mr. Bodine was a member of the Bakerville Free Will Baptist church. He was preceded in death by one daughter.

Mrs. Ada Bodine of Dodds township died at 2 a. m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pansy Sulcer of near Waltonville with whom she had lived for the past ten months. She was 85 years, nine months, and three days old. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at South Bickory Hill Christian church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. She was married to Jesse D. Bodine who preceded her in death on Mar. 19, 1959. Survivors Include two sons, Luther and Jesse Bodine both of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. Pansey Sulcer of near Waltonvllle, Mrs. Inez Qulnn and Mrs. Huth Henry, both of Mt. Vernon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Bodine was a member of the United Brethren church.
