She was Naomi Bodine, age 2, in July 1870 and Carrie Bodine, age 13, in June 1880. In April 1930, Joseph and Carrie Wilson lived in Carbondale, Jackson County where Joseph worked in automobile manufacturing.

Mrs. J. C. Wilson died this morning at Holden hospital, her death following an illness of several weeks of tumor of the brain. Mrs. Wilson had been under a specialist's care in St. Louis before being taken to Holden hospital. The body was taken to Mt. Vernon, former home of the Wilsons, for burial at Hickory Hill cemetery at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Carrie Ann Naomi Bodine, daughter of Sarah E. and George W. Bodine, was born in Jefferson county, Ill. on June 21, 1869. She died March 27th. 1931, her age being 61 years, 9 months and 6 days. She was married to Joseph C. Wilson on Feb. 19th, 1892. To this union was born five children, the first born dying in infancy. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Wilson, of this city; two sons, Bert Leo of Atlanta, Ga., and Gale J. of St. Louis, Mo., two daughters, Mrs. G. D. Etzel of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Maurice T. Hussle of Boulder, Colo., her mother, Mrs. Sarah E. Bodine of Mt. Vernon, Ill. The six surviving brothers and sisters being Mrs. Louise Arndale, Jesse Bodine, Walter A. Bodine, Mrs. J. L. Reece and Mrs. Lepton Hapole, all of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Walter Collins of Benton. She also leaves six grandchildren. Her ancestors on the maternal side were among the first settlers in Illinois, coming here from South Carolina. The Wilson family has lived here for the past thirteen years.

Joe C. Wilson, 79. a former Mt. Vernon merchant, died at 11 o'clock last night In Gainesville, Fla. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p. m. at the South Hickory Hill church, with the Rev. Lepton Harpoole officiating, and burial will be in South Hickory Hill cemetery. The body will arrive in Mt. Vernon at 3:40 a. m. Wednesday and will be taken to Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time after 1:00 p. m. Wednesday. Mr. Wilson operated the Wilson Mercantile Co. in Mt. Vernon until 1925. He was born February 20, 1869 in McClellan township, Jefferson county. He was married to Mary Bodine, who preceded him in death in March, 1931. Surviving are two sons, Bert Leo Wilson of Atlanta, Ga. and Gale Jennings Wilson of St. Louis. Mo.; and two daughter's, Mrs. Cecile Etzcl of New Jersey and Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey of Boulder, Colo.
