Margie Louise Bodine, 90, passed away March 21, 2016 at Brownwood Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bangs Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Davis-Morris. Margie was born June 26, 1925 in Limestone County to Hilery and Minnie Box. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston,Tx. She went to teletype school then worked for Western Union. She met Adrian Bodine in Houston in 1945. They were married June 1, 1946 at Bangs, Texas. After living several places, they settled in Bangs and opened Bodine TV where they worked together for thirty years. Her family and church were most important to Margie. They are members of First Baptist Church of Bangs, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Ray and Earl Box. She is survived by her husband, Adrian of Brownwood; daughter, Joyce Bodine of Bangs; son, Jerry Bodine and wife Karan of Abilene; granddaughter, Marcie Waldrip, husband Chris and their daughter of Colorado Springs, Co.; grandson, Brian Bodine, wife Toni, and their three children of Krugerville, Tx. Walter Adrian Bodine, 95, of Bangs, TX died July 3, 2019. He was a resident at Brownwood Nursing and Rehabilitation. A celebration of Adrian's life will be Tuesday, July 9 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at the Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00- 11:00 before the service on Tuesday. Adrian was born June 14, 1924, to Walter and Myrtle Bodine at his grandparents' farm near Richland Springs, TX. His family moved to Bangs in 1937. He graduated from Bangs High School in 1942 where he was active in sports. ln the summer of 1942, he started working at Camp Bowie in Brownwood. Later, he and brother Ray went to Houston to work in the shipyards. Ray later enlisted but Adrian continued at the shipyards until W.W. II was over. He married Margie Louise Box of Houston on June 1, 1946 in Bangs at the Baptist church parsonage. They were married seventy years. Adrian worked for Magnolia Oil in Houston and General Dynamics in Ft. Worth. He and Margie moved to Bangs in October 1959 with their children, Joyce Ellen and Walter Jerry. They owned Bodine TV Sales and Service. For the next thirty years, many residents in Brown and Coleman counties used their services. Margie had written that Adrian was "a man that lived for Jesus. Saved at age 9 and ordained as a Baptist Deacon at 26. A very gifted man that knew the Bible and shared it with others". He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margie, daughter Joyce, brother Ray, and sister Glenda Brow. He is survived by his son Jerry (Karan) of Abilene, granddaughter Marcie Waldrip (Chris, daughter Hannah) of Colorado Springs, CO, and grandson Brian Bodine (Toni, daughters Camryn and Cora, son Connor) of Krugerville, TX. He is also survived by sisters Betty Allen of Bangs and Nelda Low of Brownwood and brother Gayle Bodine (Cecelia) of Perrin, TX, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. We appreciate the staff at Brownwood Nursing and Rehabilitation for taking special care of Adrian. Memorials can be made to West Texas Rehab or charity of your choice.
