On 8 June 1917, Perry Milton Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft in Springfield, Greene County. He reported he was born 6 April 1892 in Springfield, was married and had a child. In 1920-1930, Perry Bodine lived in Springfield, Grene County, Missouri working as a draftsman for the iron works in 1920 and as an engineer for a ice machine company in 1930. Perry and Grace Bodine were buried in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Greene County.

Perry M. Bodine, 74, of 1605 North Fairway Terrace, died at 9 a.m. today at St. John's hospital after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Springfield, he retired nine years ago as a construction engineer for the Frisco Railroad. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 533 of Wheaton, and the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Grace, of the home; two sons, William, of Raytown, and Keith, Pasadena, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Arlena Dillard and Miss Phyllis Bodine, both of 623 North Bellview, and Mrs. Lois Vanettn, Fullington, Calif; two brothers, John L., Kirkwood, and the Rev. Robert Bodine, Detroit, Mich.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Herman Lohmeyer.

Mrs. Lela Grace Bodine, 81, of 1605 North Fairway Terrace, died at 9 p.m. Thursday in Springfield Nursing Home after a long illness. Mrs. Bodine was a member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, William J., of Raystown, and Keith M., of Pasadena, Tex.; two daughters, Miss Phyllis M. Bodine, of the home, and Mrs. Lois G. Banetten, Fullerton, Calif.; a brother, Earl Peltz, of Madison Tower, here; three sisters, Mrs. C. F. Cheek, Buffalo, Mrs. Versa Holland, Jerome, Ida., and Mrs. Nell Croww, Tacoma, Wash.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. herman Lohmeyer will announce funeral arrangements.
