John Bodine AND Carrie Brooks were married 17 March 1896.

By June 1900, John and Carrie Bodine separated. The 1900 census shows Jack Bodine living with his parents in Hunter Twp., Edgar County, Illinois and Carrie Bodine living in Coles County, Illinois:

In 1910, John Bodine, age 34 and single, lived with his parents in Waco, Sedgwick County, Kansas. In 1920, Jack Bodine, age 44 and single, lived with his mother in White Cloud, Iowa Township, Doniphan County, Kansas. In 1930, Jack Bodine, age 52 and single, lived with his brother E. E. in Grant, Dekalb County, Missouri.

John Bodine, 67, of Frazier, Buchanan Co., Missouri AND Jennin Farr, 54 of Frazier, were married 12 Aug 1942 at Plattsburg by Emsley E. James, Judge of Probate. [Note: In 1940, Jennie Farr, 53, lived in rural Buchanan County. In 1900, as Jennie Farr, born Jan 1887 in Missouri, she lived with her parents Henry C. & Josie Farr, in Tremont, Buchanan County.]

According to his Missouri death certificate, he died of a facial cancer and was buried in Frazier Cemetery. Informant was his widow, Jennie Bodine.

Mrs. Caroline Finley, 78, of Illiopolis, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday in her home. She was born in Louisville on July 7, 1871, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Brooks, and was a member of Illiopolis Methodist Church. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Diehl of Springfield; a sister, Mrs. Serena Miller of Indianapolis, and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Illiopolis Methodist church, with burial in Oak Ridge cemetery in Springfield. Friends may call at Pritchett funeral home, Illiopolis, after 4 p.m. today.
