Laforest Bodine lived with his family June 1900 (as J. L. Bodine) in Ellsworth, Tyler County, West Virginia where he worked as an oil pumper. He reported that in 12 years of marriage his wife had borne 5 children of whom 4 were then living. The family lived April 1910 in Sumner, Lawrence County, Illinois; Jan 1920 in Drumright, Creek County, Oklahoma and April 1930 in Econtuchka, Seminole County, Oklahoma. In 1910 he reported that in 23 years of marriage his wife had borne 6 children of whom 5 were then living and that he was employed as an oil field driller. In 1930 he was a filling station proprietor. The 1900 census reported that both John and Minnie were born in Pennsylvania as were their 3 children, recorded as G. R., W. W. and J.L. Jr., but the youngest, Gertrude, was born in West Virginia. In the 1880 census, LaForest was born in New York; the 1910 census, reported that Laforest and Minnie were born in New York, that Robert, Laforest Jr. and Gertrude were born in Ohio and Nellie in West Virginia. The 1920 census reported Laforest was born in New York and Minnie in Pennsylvania.

Funeral services for L. J. "Jack" Bodine, 70-year-old former cable tool driller, will be held at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon in the First Christian church. Bodine, who had been in ill health for more than two years, died late last night at his home northwest of Seminole. Born in New York, Bodine came to Seminole about 15 years ago from Drumright. He was well-known in the oil fields. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Minnie Bodine, two daughters, Mrs. Joe Wells of Seminole and Mrs. William Clay of Oklahoma City, and three sons, L. J. Bodine jr., of Great Bend, Kans., William W. Bodine of Maud and Robert Bodine of Toledo, Ohio. Rev. W. L. Steele will officiate at the services, and burial will be in the Memorial Park cemetery at Oklahoma City under the direction of Chadwick's funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Minnie O. Bodine, a long time resident of Seminole. The services will be conducted in the First Christian church with Rev. J. B. France officiating. Her survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Paul Harris, Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Bill Clay of Oklahoma City. Three sons, L. J. Bodine, Jr., of Wichita, Kan., Robert R. Bodine, Dayton, O., and W. W. Bodine of Okemah, Okla. She is also survived by two brothers and eight grandchildren. Rebekah lodge will have charge of the funeral arrangements. Burial will be made in Memorial Park in Oklahoma City with Chadwick's in charge.
