John D. Bodine served in Company D, 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry. John Bodine, age 23 and single, was living 1870 with his parents in Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania and working as a telegraph operator. In 1880-1930, he lived in McKean County, Pennsylvania employed as a telegraph operator. In 1900, he reported that in 33 years of marriage his wife had borne 5 children of whom 4 were then living. In 1910, he reported that 3 of his 5 children were still living and that he now worked as a gauger on an oil lease. In April 1930, John Bodine, age 83 and his 2nd wife, Ella, age 71, lived in Ormsby, Keating Township, McKean County.

Mrs. Margaret. Bodine, aged 78 years, and a well known and highly respected resident of this city, died at the Bradford hospital last night at 10. o'clock. She is survived by her husband, John, of No. 26 Oxford street. The body was removed to Koch's undertaking rooms where it will be prepared for burial. Funeral announcements will be made later.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Margaret Bodine will be held at the home, No. 26 Oxford street, at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Rev. S. A, Keen of the First M. E. church will officiate. Burial will be made at Oak Hill cemetery.

John D. Bodine, aged 83, a veteran of the Civil War, died yesterday afternoon at 12:50 o'clock at his home in Ormsby, following an illness of eight weeks' duration. Deceased had been a resident of this section for the past 50 years. Mr. Bodine was born September 14, 1846, in Jersey Shore, Pa., and came to Bradford 50 years ago and was employed by the Tidewater company for years. He was pensioned in 1911. He was a member of Union lodge N. 334, F. and A. M., of Bradford, and of John Melvin post G. A. R. He served with the 20th Pennsylvania Volunteer cavalry company and the 195th volunteer infantry. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ella Bodine; one daughter, Mrs. Walter Double of Gifford; two sons, L. J. Bodine of Seminole, Okla., and R. O. Bodine of Sublette, Kan.; one brother, Dr. Samuel D. Bodine of Jersey Shore; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services for John Bodine will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home in Ormsby, and at 2:30 o'clock from the McAllister funeral chapel. Rev. Bisgrove will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Tionesta, July 27--Mrs. Mary Ellen Bodine, 79, for many years a resident of Ormsby in McKean county, died today at 12:55 p.m. at the home of her brother, Joseph Schwab, in East Hickory. Born in Venango county September 1, 1858, the daughter of Reuben and Anna Schwab, Mrs. Bodine spent most of her life in McKean county. She was the widow of W. D. [sic-J. D.] Bodine. Mrs. Bodine had lived with her brother in East Hickory for three months. Death, following a lengthy illness, was attributed to a heart ailment. Two brothers, Joseph of East Hickory, and David of Ashtabula, O., survive. The funeral will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church in East Hickory. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Tionesta.

East Hickory, Aug. 5--Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Ella Hill Bodine, wife of John Bodine, were held from the Methodist Episcopal church at Tionesta, with Rev. Hall, of the Free Methodist church, officiating. Special music was provided by Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Tanler and Mrs. Grove. Interment was made in the Tionesta Riverside cemetery. Relatives attended the rites from Youngsville, Ashtabula, O., East Hickory and Tionesta. Mrs. Bodine was born September 1, 1858 in Venango county, a daughter of Reuben and Fanny Schwab. Her father lost his life in Civil War service and her mother died February 28, 1866, leaving the children to the care of friends near Tionesta. Ella was married in 1882 to Arnold Hill and to this union was born one son, Charles Hill, who preceded his mother in death. After her marriage to John Bodine, she made her home in Ormsby until she was taken ill several months ago, since when she has made her home with her brother, Joseph C. Schwab, of this place. She leaves, also, another brother, David Schwab, of Ashtabula, O., and many friends in this vicinity.
