Notes for: Adam C. Bodine

There seems to be a mistake on the 1900 Census of Warren Co., NJ concerning Adam's birth date. It looks like it says he was born in March of 1868 and was 32 years old at the time of that Census on June 9, 1900. However, the 1880 Census of Warren County says he was 14 years old and that brothers on both sides of him were 12 and 16. The 1910 Census, taken in April of 1910, says he was 44 years old. The conclusion I draw from these differences is that he must have been born in March of 1866.

Dave,

I just uncovered another Bodine in my family tree. This one is Adam Bodine, son of Joseph Bodine and Christian Miller. He married a Minna or Minnie Warman and had at least one child, a dau. named Edith M. Bodine. Would you happen to know this Bodine line and if so do you know who Edith married?

So far, I haven't been able to trace them passed the 1910 census.

Known details are shown below.

Thanks,

Michael

From Ronny Bodine:

He was Adam C. Bodine, age 4 in 1870 and 14 in 1880. In 1900, his birth was given as March 1868, age 62 and in 1910 he was 44. Although it appears he was born in March 1866, the year would be in conflict with the firm birth date of his elder brother in Dec 1865 and so March 1867 seems the more likely choice. In 1910, living in Newark, Essex County and working as a house carpenter, he reported that in 15 years of marriage his wife had borne one child, their daughter Edith who was living with them. Minnie was the daughter of John M. and Mary E. (Boaz) Warman.
