PEORIA - Darlene M. O'Neill, 86, of Peoria, formerly of Wyoming, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at her residence. Born Sept. 4, 1917, in Wyoming to Don E. and Vada I. Drinnin Bodine, she married John Terrence "Ted" O'Neill on Sept. 9, 1939, in Wyoming. He died Jan. 27, 1973, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one brother. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Jo (and Jerry) Callahan and Judy O'Neill, with whom she made her home, both of Peoria, and Peggy (and Dan) Stanton of Chicago; three sons, John (and Sharon) of Liverpool, N.Y., Don (and Marcia) of Wyoming, and Mark (and Agnes) of Washington; one sister, Donna Bodine of Washington; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was a correspondent for the Wyoming Post Herald for many years and its office manager for 14 years, retiring in 1981. She was a former member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Wyoming and its Altar & Rosary Society. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Wyoming. The Rev. Robert Rayson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with recitation of the rosary at 6:45 p.m. Further visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in St. Dominic's Cemetery in Wyoming. Memorials may be made to Senior World or to OSF Hospital.
