Notes for: Martin Ruel Bodine
His middle name is given as Martin "R." Bodine on the tombstone. But it is Martin Buel Bodine in his birth record at LDS and in his death record. RB has found numerous references to the middle initial "R" in the records; so we will go with that (see Ronny's notes below). I think we'll just make the guess it was actually "Martin Ruel Bodine."
In the 1910 Census of Oak Grove Township, Anoka Co., MN, Martin is 57 years old and was born in Michigan. Both his father and mother were born in New York (or Michigan according to the 1880 Census). His wife, Julia, was listed as age 55 and born in Canada. Both her parents were born in Canada. Sarah McCann is living with them. She is a mother of five with two living. Sarah was born in New York as well as both of her parents. This Sarah is Sarah Bodine, the widow of John L. Bodine. She may be listed as Martin's mother-in-law in the census. I would tend to think this was a mistake and that Sarah Bodine was Martin's mother, but that is just a guess. However, John L. Bodine is listed as being from New Jersey and not New York.
I would lean toward saying that John L. and Sarah Bodine were Martin's parents, but that needs evidence.
