From Ronny Bodine:

Obituary, Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Nora Yvonne Finley age 88, passed away peacefully at St. Anthony's hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, on January 23, 2013. She was born on July 29, 1924 in Wanette, OK, to John and Nora Bodine. As the youngest sibling of six, with five brothers, she acquired her quick wit and keen sense of humor, perhaps by sheer means of survival. From her parents, she learned the power of unconditional love, a strong work ethic and generosity to strangers, and lived by her father's motto "If you have a dime, give someone a nickel." On April 12, 1946, she married the love of her life, James Finley. They were inseparable for 35 years and in their time together, sent four children boldly into the world who still today reflect the passion and charitable hearts of their Mom and Dad. Yvonne worked at Hardesty Grocery until the day she died - officially, 50 years. Not because she had to, but because she cherished people, and work is where she could find more of them. Long before the world became enamored with the term "random acts of kindness," they were Yvonne's way of life. She was consummately honest, always the life of the party and a woman after God's heart. Above all, she treasured her family. She was an angel to those who were lucky enough to truly know her and will forever live on in all our hearts as the model of a mother's love. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 5 brothers: Delos, Ewing, Lawrence, Everett and Delayne Bodine and their wives, and one son-in-law: Randy Parish. She is survived by four children and their spouses: Mike & Kylee Finley, Cathy & Phil Berkstresser, Jim & Jennifer Finley and Mary Parish. Grandchildren & their spouses: Chad Dean, Brian & Jamie Finley, Piper & John Dunlap, Hailey & Peter Kern, Brandi Finley, Courtney, Bryce & Brooke Coston, Elizabeth & Darren Rutherford, Tara & Matt Valandingham, and Whitney Lee. Great-Grandchildren: Mason Dean, Konnar Hodges, Georgia Ruth, Parks Finley, Ryan Herron, Henry Kern, Brentley Lee & Corbin Valandingham. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Broadway United Methodist Church in Tecumseh with Rev. Josh Langille-Hoppe officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Yvonne's honor to Salvation Army or the American Heart Association
