Hi..I was doing my usual Christmas-New Year's poking around trying to fill in more blanks in the family tree and stumbled across your excellent website. Still frustrated at not being to pinpoint my great-grandmother's precise date of death, but can at least offer you some more information for her listing. Rose Clementine Bodine married William Henry Flanagan ( originally of Virginia) in Oklahoma in 1897, and we know that she died of typhus when my gran'ma, Gladys Mae Flanagan was about 2 or 3 years old. Gran'ma was born January 12, 1901, and her older sister, Maude Lucille was born January 19, 1898. Grandaddy Flanagan remarried to Mary Ophelia Graham in 1905, and his second family started with my uncle Guy in 1906. Your site shows granddaddy's death as 1902, but it's more likely that it was Clemmie's death late in that year, as I know for a fact that granddaddy passed away March 31, 1959 in Pomona, California. Just sayin'.
Keep up the good work, and thank you for it.

From Ronny Bodine:

From Oklahoma County, Oklahoma Territory Marriage Records:
Henry Flanagan, 21 AND Clementine Bodine, 19, dau. of George Bodine, both of Oklahoma City were married 28 March 1897, by M. E. Waldraven, JP.

In June 1900, William Flanagan lived with his wife and daughter in Berlin Township, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma Territory. He was a farmer and reported that in 3 years of marriage his wife had borne 2 children of whom one survived. In April 1910, William Flanagan lived in Arapaho Township, Custer County, Oklahoma with his 2nd wife Opelia, to whom he had been married 7 years. As his 2 daughters from his 1st marriage lived with him and his new family, it appears Rose died betwen 1901, when Gladys was born and 1903 when he remarried. Rose may well have died in childbirth. On 12 Sept 1918, William Henry Flanagan registered for the World War 1 draft in Canadian County, Oklahoma reporting he was born 3 March 1877 and that his next of kin was Ophelia Mary Flanagan.

In 1942, William Henry Flanagan of Pomona, CA, registered for the World Ware II Draft. He reported he was born 3 April 1878 in Richmond, VA.

From California Death Records:
William Henry Flanagan was born 3 March 1878 in Virginia and died 31 March 1959 in Los Angeles County.

Burials in Pomona Cemetery and Mausoleum, Pomona, Los Angeles County, California.
