OSAGE CITY Marvin Gene Bodine, 73, passed away, Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Peterson Nursing Home in Osage City. Marvin was born October 20, 1937 in Osage County. The son of Ernest Preston and Ethel Marie (Craft) Bodine. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1955. He was a life long resident and farmer of Osage County. Marvin was joined in marriage to Margaret Loree Peterson on April 19, 1959 in Osage City. Marvin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osage City and had served on the Superior Township Board, School Board and Rural Water District #7. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Preston Bodine. Survivors include his wife, Margaret of the home; two sons, Robert Bodine and his wife, Deborah of Lyndon, Joseph Bodine and his wife, Dewi Rusli of Lawrence; two sisters, Fern Buchmeier of Topeka, Helen Bodine of Olathe; two grandsons, Eric and Austin Bodine. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. The family will receive friends an hour before service.
