WALTON----Percy H. Budine, 80, of Walton, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 8, 2000, at Delaware County Countryside Care Center in Delhi, where he had been residing. He was born on Aug. 29, 1919, to Herman and Nina (Constable) Budine. He married Gladys LeRoy on Jan. 24, 1939, in Walton, who survives him. Mr. and Mrs. Budine operated a farm on East Brook Road, Walton, for 27 years. In 1967, they moved into Walton and Percy joined the village street department, working as assistant street commissioner and then as street commissioner, retiring in 1985. He was a 17-year member of Alert Hose Company No. 2, Walton Fire Department and a former member of the Wakeman Brook Sportsman Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys Budine of Walton; four children and their families survive, Dennis (Bonnie Lee) Budine of Unadilla, James (Kathy Beadle) Budine of Walton, Dixie (Kenneth) MacGibbon of Statesville, N.C., and Edward (Debra) Budine of Walton; a sister survives, Betty LaRose of Unadilla; and 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lana Mae; a granddaughter, Renee Lynn; brothers, Bruce, Donald and Roland; and a sister, Louise Kishbaugh. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Lyon Bros.-Way Inc. Funeral Home, corner of North and Delaware streets, Walton, with the Rev. Wayne Muckel, chaplain at Delaware County Countryside Care Center, officiating. Burial will be in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin, in the spring. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Delaware County Countryside Care Center, Route 10, Delhi, N.Y. or to the Walton Fire Department, 59 West St., Walton, N.Y. WALTON---Gladys M. Budine, 80, of Country Meadow Park, Walton, passed away on Dec. 3, 2002, at the home of her son, with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 21, 1922, in Otego, the daughter of Charles and Charlotte Northrup LeRoy. Gladys married Percy H. Budine on Jan. 24, 1939. She was a loving wife for 61 years and the loving mother of her children, Dennis and his wife, Bonnie Lee Budine of Unadilla, James and his wife, Kathy Budine of Walton, Dixie and Kenneth MacGibbon of Slatesville, N.C., and Edward and his wife, Debra L. Budine of Walton. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband Percy; daughter, Lana Mae; granddaughter, Renee Lynn; and brother, Peter. Gladys was a homemaker on the family farm. Then she went to work at the Walton Central School cafeteria for a number of years. She was a lifelong Walton resident and a charter member of the Walton Fire Department Auxiliary and will be fondly remembered by family, friends, her cats and fish, as a loving person who lived life to the fullest. A private family memorial service will be held with burial at Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gladys M. Budine to the Catskill Area Hospice, 542 Main St., Oneonta, NY 13820 or Walton Fire Department Auxiliary, 61 West St., Walton, NY 13856 would be appreciated.
